The publication recently ranked the very best hamburgers in America, and Philly-based sports bar chain Chickie's and Pete's earned a spot among the chosen few — specifically, their BBQ burger.
Served with a slice of American cheese on the bar's signature brioche bun, this burger is topped with crispy bacon and fried onions and is "absolutely loaded with barbecue sauce," says Tasting Table.
A classic medley of ingredients paired with the perfect "crunch ratio" earns the BBQ burger a place of honor in the American sandwich landscape, according to the magazine.
Of course, the sports bar and crab house is best known for its signature crab fries, tossed in a secret in-house spice blend and served with a creamy, cheesy dipping sauce.
Chickie's and Pete's calls Philadelphia home — its original Robbins Avenue location in Wissinoming is still going strong since 1977 — but the sports bar has locations throughout the city and in Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, Bucks, and Lehigh counties; as well as across New Jersey in Marlton, Bordentown, Egg Harbor, Atlantic City and the Jersey Shore.
